The Akosombo Divisional Police Command in the Eastern Region have arrested a 20-year-old man for possessing bones suspected to be human parts.
The suspect Samuel Asare was arrested Tuesday morning about 6:00am by Police at Anum in the Asuogyaman District after his father lodged a complaint.
Father of the Suspect – Mr Amoako Attah went to the Suspect’s room and found some bones suspected to be human parts. He beat him mercilessly and reported the matter to Police to investigate.
Police together with the complainant went to his house where the suspect’s room was searched.
Police retrieved decomposed bones suspected to be human skull, jaw and ribs.
He was arrested and sent to the Police station and later to the Salvation Army Clinic where he was treated and discharged.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sergeant Francis Gomado confirmed the arrest to Kasapa News.
He said, the exhibit bones has been sent to the Peki Government hospital morgue for preservation pending efforts for it to be sent to the Police hospital for further investigation.
He, however said, the Suspect has since refused to speak during interrogation.
