Two university students jailed 5 years for leaking the Nude of a teenager

Two university students have been jailed 5 years for leaking the nudes of a teenager. The two guys Desmond Appleton and Elvin Boakye Agyemang were jailed 3 years and 2 years respectively.

They both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit the crime with Child pornography, Procurement of Child Pornography, possession of Child pornography and Publication of Child Pornography.

In January 2017, Boakye Agyemang established contact with the Victim when he went to her school to sell branded T shirt. From there they started chatting on Telegram where Boakye managed to convince the 14year old to send him her nudes.

Boakye then sent the nude video and screenshots of the girls nude photos to Desmond Appleton. Desmond then started chatting the Girl were he demanded she sends him more nudes with threats he will publish the ones he has if she fails to comply.

The victim then obeyed and sent him 10 nude photos of herself but Desmond demanded more. The girl refused and uninstalled the app. On july 16 2017, the mother of the victim had a call from her daughter’s teacher who informed her that her daughter’s nudes have leaked social media.

According to ACP Yankson, when the victim was interviewed, She complied and a report was made at the cyber crime unit of Ghana Police service. The police followed up the issue to its logical conclusion which is court sentences of the perpetrators of the crime.
