The Basic Education Certificate Examination is the first of Academic certificate any students will acquire in their entire education. And you cannot make your way into any senior high school without it.
One very sad thing today is how students have to travel several miles, in all forms of conditions just to make it to the examination center to write the exams.
News coming from from the Northern Region, Angel TV correspondent Ali Busu informed his colleague Captain Smart on the Anopa Bofo show that, the B.E.C.E is set to commence today after all arrangements have been done.
Before he could end the broadcast information was given to him of a sad event that happened as some students were travelling to write their exams. These students boat they were travelling with for almost two hours capsized before they could get to their centers.
According to reports 18 students have been rescued so far, with others in critical condition due to a delay in rescuers reaching them on time.
The team is said to be still searching for other survivors.
Hopefully they are all found and rescued.
