Speaking with Kwame Sefa Kayi on the Kokrokoo, the minister of education has said that Top-up will no longer be needed as you complete as a graduate.
According to the Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP is a teacher’s party and has helped teachers each time they are in power.
According to him, the NPP looks to change the phase of teacher training and with the recent introduction of the degree course in the Various colleges of education, there is no need for these teachers to spend additional money on top-up.
He further added that teachers spend the contact hours doing their project work and other stuff from the top-up course he/she is offering.
“Teacher doing top-up does not get time to teach students, but now, there is no need for top-up because you complete as a graduate” He added.
