The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the Chief of Staff to meet with the former Special Prosecutor to address outstanding matters consequent to his resignation.
A statement from the Presidency said the President has taken note of his resignation letter and wishes him well in all his endeavours.
However, government intends to issue a detailed response to some of the issues raised by the former Special Prosecutor in his resignation letter.
Martin Amidu resigned from his position as Special Prosecutor on Monday November 16, 2020 citing the President’s interference with the independence of his office in the Agyapa Royalties issue and other relating matters.
The former Special Prosecutor also alleged that he and his Deputy had not been paid their emoluments since they were appointed some two years ago.
