Confusion broke out between political party agents in Bolgatanga, the capital of the Upper East region of Ghana.
The confusion came as the electoral materials arrived in the region. The materials are to be kept in safely ahead of the December 2020 elections. The materials of the electoral commission is meant for the fifteen constituencies in the region.
The confusion according to reports ensued between political party agents and the police as to where the items should be kept.
In a report by Tv3 News, the political party agents started agitating as to where the items were to be kept a few minutes after the truck conveying the electoral items arrived at the Upper East regional command.
After minutes of heated arguments, they came to an agreement to keep the materials at the DOVVSU department while awaiting the December election. The materials were carefully inspected by the party agents.
A representative from the European Union team of observers, by the name, Stoil Tzitzelkov, was present at the regional police command. was also present.
Some political parties representatives shared the expectations on the electoral commission’s preparedness.
