Buffett has added nearly $13 billion to his net worth this year, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and his company is up nearly 15% in 2021. Berkshire Hathaway’s Class A shares closed on Wednesday at $398,840.
Buffett has passed Google co-founder Larry Page and now stands just behind Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the index showed.
Buffett’s holding company added four new companies to their portfolio as of Dec. 31, 2020: Verizon, Chevron, Marsh & McLennan and EW Scripps. The company exited completely from JPMorgan Chase, Pfizer and others.
The company also sold 9.81 million shares of Apple Inc. in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Last month, the 90-year-old Buffett said he has no plans to retire.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos currently holds the title for richest person in the world with a $180 billion net worth. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, and Zuckerberg hold the next spots, respectively.
