Women’s Wing Maidens (WWM), an all-ladies group within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has showered praises on the party’s National Women Organiser, Kate Gyamfua, for transforming the women’s wing. The group says Ms Gyamfua, since her election as the National Women Organiser in 2018, has embarked on several projects that have changed the face of women mobilisation in the country.
In a short statement to wish Ms Gyamfua a happy birthday, signed by its National Secretary, Sarah Buabeng, the group singled out Ms Gyamfua’s ‘operation 2 million women votes’ agenda launched ahead of the 2020 general election as a feat that is worth commending.
“Your ‘operation 2 million women votes’ saw you implementing different programmes and projects to ensure its realisation. From meeting of market women, mobilisation of queen mothers across the country, organisation of fasting and prayers, donation to different individuals, hospitals, groups, organisations among others, all helped the party in winning the 2020 general election.
“As for your rebranding agenda in changing the face of women mobilisation in the country and making the NPP women’s wing more attractive than it used to be, the party can only be forever indebted to you,” the group said.
Birthday
Today April 1 marks the birthday of the NPP National Women Organiser. As part of activities for the day, she shall be reaching out to some vulnerable women in the country. To the WWM, Ms Gyamfua’s generous heart and passion for women empowerment demand appreciation.
“Your generosity, love for all, passion to see women succeed and current spirited fight for the Affirmative Action Bill are symptomatic of a mother who cares for her people. Our prayer is for God to continue to bless you in all your endeavours,” the statement added.
