The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it will be pushing for electoral reforms soon and embarking on a series of programmes to enhance its unity and rekindle the spirit of commitment and hard work among its rank and file toward recapturing power in 2024.
This was contained in a communiqué issued and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, after a three-day retreat in Ho, Volta Region, to discuss the 2020 elections and the way forward.
Also, at the meeting, “a roadmap for the reorganisation of the party was adopted and will be announced in the coming weeks upon approval by the National Executive Committee of the party,” said the communiqué.
Party executives at the branch and constituency levels have also been directed to urgently begin holding regular weekly meetings and activate steps toward mobilising existing and new members.
The leadership of the NDC further urged all its members and sympathisers to actively participate in the reorganisation programme, “as we continue our quest to rescue Ghana from the clutches of the inept, deceitful and corrupt NPP/Akufo-Addo government and restore her to the path of development, inclusion and progress.”
