A broadcast journalist with Accra based Citi FM and Citi TV Caleb Kudah, has disclosed his encounter in the hands of national security operatives when he was arrested for allegedly taking photos at a restricted security zone at the National Security Ministry.
Speaking in a yet to be televised interview on Point of View, the journalist said he was manhandled by the security operatives when he was held in custody.
He told Bernard Avle, host of the show that one Agyemang at the National Security Ministry kicked him in the balls.
Caleb Kusah said he was asked to kneel down and at a point, the said Agyemang walked to him and as they were talking, the said Agyemang kicked him in the balls.
He further disclosed that when they were going to where Police Officer Azu was, some of the operatives said ”captain has instructed us to beat you. That was what they told me”.
He indicated that the operatives also slapped him and took his phone, communicated with his colleague Zoe Abu Baidoo and asked her where she was.
He explained the security operatives had planned to pick up his colleague and that was why they took his phone and communicated with her.
Caleb Kudah was released from the grips of National Security operatives.
He was released Tuesday night, hours after he was picked up by the operatives, together with a colleague, Zoe Abu-Baidoo.
The operatives stormed the premises Citi FM/CitiTV with seven armed officers and other officials to pic-up the journalists for questioning.
Caleb was arrested for allegedly filming at the premises of the National Security Ministry.
