An integral member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Benjamin Wayo Mahama, has taken a swipe at his excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo the president of the Republic of Ghana concerning the private jet issue.
This comes after the member of parliament for North Tungu constituency honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa alleged that, President Akufo- Addo has went in for a private jet which charges £15, 000 per a hour.
The NDC legislator said the President has consistently abandoned the presidential aircraft which was used by three former Presidents.
Mr. Ablakwa, therefore, wondered why Akufo- Addo has decided to abandon the presidential aircraft, causing the country to spend millions of cedis on a private jet.
In a post reaction on Facebook today 1st June, 2021 Benjamin Wayo Mahama seconded a panelist at Accra Fm, who revealed that president Akufo- Addo had eventually given the presidential jet to Edward Bumpty Akufo- Addo, his younger brother.

According to Benjamin Wayo Mahama, Edward Bumpty was last spotted with the presidential jet in Abidjan and he is telling Ghanaians for a fact that, the presidential jet is at the disposal of Edward Bumpty Akufo- Addo.
” Nana Addo has given the official presidential jet to his family, that is why he is now renting a private jet for GHC 2. 8 million per trip” , he posted.
It is well known that, John Agyekum Kufuor, John Evans Atta Mills and John Mahama all used to travel in the Ghana- owned presidential aircraft.
Therefore, many Ghanaians are wondering why Akufo- Addo has decided to abandon the presidential aircraft, causing the country to spend millions of cedis on a private jet.
