Maverick politician Kennedy Agyapong has admitted that he has no evidence on claims that Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Abdul Malik Kweku Baako received bribes.
Under cross-examination, the Assin Central lawmaker was confronted with claims made on the 24th day of July 2018 on Oman FM, to the effect that the veteran journalist was sitting there taking envelopes, writing and publishing stories after taking those envelopes.
But during cross examination he was quoted to have said “Yes my lady but if the plaintiff would be sincere to himself, even where they sit to have meetings at Coffee Shop, it is called Coffee Shop Mafia. Again I want to say that I said whatever I said because of the insult he rained on me and he broke the trust”
Lawyer for the plaintiff also suggested to the defendant that he has no proof and has also not brought the same before the court to confirm that the plaintiff took envelope and publish stories.
In his response he said “He is saying I have no proof. I have told the court that I said whatever I said because of what he said and I want the definition of the Coffee Mafia and what they do there. My lady it is unfortunate that most Ghanaians are coward and are afraid to come forward to collaborate what I have said”
Suit
Kweku Baako has sued the loudmouth lawmaker at the Accra High Court, asking the court to compel the controversial lawmaker to vomit GH¢25 million for defaming him.
The ace journalist is accusing the loudmouthed Kennedy Agyapong of using his own media platform Net 2 TV and Oman FM as well Adom TV and numerous other platforms to spew statements that Mr Baako considers injurious to his hard-won reputation.
