Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo, has charged the Police Service to immediately take steps to deal with recent murder cases in the country.
The recent murder cases in Ghana he lamented are not the best and a threat to stability and security in Ghana.
He was reacting to the death of Ibrahim Mohammed aka Kaaka, who was allegedly attacked by a mob and died while on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Mr. Akpaloo said the death of the young man should not be politicized by any reasonable person.
He said the death of the late Kaaka must be treated as a murder case and all persons involved must be dealt with and prosecuted.
The 2020 presidential candidate of the LPG further opined that no one should be attacked for expressing their views on governance in Ghana.
That he described as terrible and against democracy we have cherished over the years.
He then charged the Police to up their game and ensure that murder issues are dealt with.
To him, Ghanaians are not animals to be killed by anyone irrespective of the reasons involved.
He said nobody has the right to take the life of another and the death of Kaaka is no exception.
He argued the Police have slept on their job for long and it was about time they address the increasing rate of murder in the country.
“We cannot allow people to be killed, anyone. Ghanaians are not animals to be killed just like that. We shouldn’t entertain this. I would admonish the Police to up their game. The murder cases are one too many. They should not allow this to continue, it will not help us as a country. They should be swift and deal with the murder cases,” he told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
