The anger and frustration that came with the murder of #FixTheCountry campaigner Ibrahim Anyass, alias Macho Kaaka, has prompted many bodies including the Economic Fighters League and the #FixTheCountry movement to demand justice.
They have therefore requested audience with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh.
A statement sighted by 3news.com and dated Tuesday, June 29 and jointly signed by Hardi Yakubu, representing the Economic Fighters League, and Oliver Barker-Vormawor for the #FixTheCountry movement, in part reads, “we are by this letter requesting for a formal audience with you, in your capacity as the Inspector General of Police, in connection with the murder of Ibrahim Anyass, at Ejura, Ashanti Region”.
The statement also gave the background to the event that led to the gruesome murder of the activist over the weekend.
It condemned the act, referring to it as being callous and also condemned the events of Tuesday, June 29 when the military were deployed to the area but opened fire on the peaceful protesters, leading to the killing of three and injuring of six.
Hardi Yakubu, Fighter General of the Economic Fighters League, confirmed earlier on Thursday that the Office of the Inspector General of Police has called to schedule for the meeting at 11am July 1, 2021.
