35 Dunkwa Chiefs together with Leaders of Ghana Small scale miners Association have sent a message to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to try them by handing over the fight of Galamsey into their hands and they will surprise him with a tremendous outcome.
Speaking at Dunkwa in a Press conference televised on Angel TV, the Chiefs and miners Explained that government spending billions of Ghana Cedis in the Galamsey fight isn’t yielding the desired results.
” We the Chiefs in the various communities are ready to surprise Government. Simply try us. It won’t cost us money to talk to our own People against Galamsey. However we are always sidelined in the fight. We see soldiers in our communities doing undeserved things.
They guard Chinese people to engage in the act. We keep quiet because Government has already ignored us in the fight. They believe in the military than the chiefs. Simply give us the chance, put us on trial’ They lamented.
On the part of the small scale miners Association, they accepted the blame that they refused to educate their own People against Galamsey.
However, if Government will bring any money to them to help the fight, they will need just five Ghana Cedis to buy Pure water and that is it. They will also surprise Government with a tremendous Education against the menace.
