Former Communications Advisor to Former President John Dramani Mahama, Mr Ben Dotse Malor, has asked Ghanaians to commend First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo for her decision to reject the payment of salary recommended by the Prof.Ntiamoah-Baidu Committee.
The expert in his opinion said if he was the advisor to the First Lady, he would have asked her to take every penny allocated to her and embark on a borehole drilling campaign in deprived communities without water.
”I would have encouraged her to take every penny of this money and go on a massive borehole-drilling campaign across Ghana, in the most deprived parts of our nation, with the media in tow, to see what her returned money has done to transform the lives of many ordinary Ghanaians, in terms of the provision of clean water. But still, she has done well.”
To him, the actions of the First Lady should serve as a great example to all.
”May she be blessed. May selfless, sacrificial, and service-minded leaders arise to guide the people. May GOD continue to bless our homeland Ghana.”

GHANA – THE FIRST LADY, MRS REBECCA AKUFO-ADDO, MUST BE COMMENDED: … for refunding a total of nearly 900,000 cedis (about US$152,000) to state coffers, being all the allowances she has received since her husband assume the presidency in January 2017. Her action follows public outcry over revelations that the spouses of Ghana’s President and the Vice-president are receiving – or are to receive – minister-level salaries from state coffers.
“All things are lawful for me but all things are not expedient/helpful/edifying ….” says the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:23.
