Former Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson has been appointed by Pope Francis as the head of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.
The appointment takes effect from Monday, April 4 and comes a few months after the Ghanaian’s resignation from his role as Prefect of the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development.
