Staff, management and listeners of Onua FM, a subsidiary of Media General, had a shock of their lives on Monday evening when the ousted former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs, ran out from the studios.
The outspoken former NDC regional chairman left the station without notifying the host nor the producer about his reasons.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs was billed as the main guest on Onua FM’s maiden political show “PAE MU KA”, which was being hosted by Yaa Titi on Monday, May 24 between the hours of 8 and 10.
Even though the show starts at 8:00pm, Mr. Allotey Jacobs, who resides in Cape Coast, got to the station’s studio by 7:45pm.
But the former NDC leading member, who now sympathizes with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), was told and agreed he would be on air by 9:00pm.
After sensing that the ‘heat waves’ on the show was too high for him, he left without notifying the producer and the presenter of the show.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs reportedly asked the security to direct him to a washroom to attend to nature’s call while waiting for his turn but for some reasons best known to him, reportedly told the security man he was leaving because the programme had ended.
Several calls to him were not answered.
The anchor, Yaa Titi, was disappointed that after a series of phone calls and subsequently agreeing to appear on the show, Mr. Allotey Jacobs left without her knowledge.
‘Pae Mu Ka’ comes your way every Monday from 8:00pm to 10:00pm on Onua FM 95.7Mz.
