The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has set Thursday, August 21, 2025, for the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. This follows the official announcement of her passing on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Palace officials say the solemn event will be held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, in accordance with Ashanti customs. Chiefs, queen mothers, government officials, and mourners from across Ghana and beyond are expected to attend, dressed in traditional mourning attire.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who served as the Queen Mother of the Ashanti Kingdom for eight years, was celebrated for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to preserving Ashanti traditions.
Her death has been described by many as a significant loss, not only to the Ashanti Kingdom but to the entire nation. She played a pivotal role in uniting the royal court and promoting the welfare of her people.

The upcoming ceremony is expected to draw large crowds and serve as an important moment for reflection on her life, legacy, and service to the Kingdom.
