The petition filed by Albert Ameyaw, one of the aspirants at the just ended NPP Parliamentary Primaries in the Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region has been thrown away as Professor George Gyan Baffour win is upheld.
After the elections, Albert Ameyaw who disagreed with the outcome of the elections petitioned the regional executives. Albert Ameyaw pulled 167 votes as against 172 by Professor George Gyan Baffour who is the incumbent Member of Parliament.
The Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe addressing the supporters of Albert Ameyaw noted that after receiving the petition they constituted a committee which investigated into the incident. He noted that the findings of the committee proved that Professor Gyan Baffour was duly elected.
“I congratulate the winners and wish them the very best as the party heads towards 2020 elections and be minded that the primaries was a curtain raiser for the bigger battle in 2020, “he said.
Professor Gyan Baffour has disclosed that this would be the last time he would seek to represent the people of Wenchi.
