Ajax have confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be out of action for ‘several months’ as a result of a meniscus injury suffered on his Champions League debut.
Kudus had to be subbed off just six minutes into the game against Premier League champions, Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The injury was as a result of poor landing on his left leg after a knee to knee collision with Fabinho.
Following further medical examinations, it’s been revealed the 20-year-old suffered a meniscus injury.
He’s expected to undergo surgery and will be out for several months.
“Mohammed Kudus has suffered a meniscus injury that will keep him sidelined for several months,” Ajax wrote on their Twitter page.
Come back stronger, Mo! ♥️

The injury also means he will not be available for the Black Stars in next month’s Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifier against Sudan.
He had scored one goal and provided three assists for Ajax so far, having joined them in the summer from Danish side, Nordsjaelland.
