Three men aged between 25 and 35 years have met their untimely death in a gory accident at Dunkwa Ayamfuri, a mining community in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region.
In an interview with Kasapa FM News’ Yaw Boagyan, the Assemblymember for the Area, Mr Kwabena Enin Castro explained that the incident occurred early Tuesday, June 8, 2021, around 10:15 am between the Dunkwa Ayamfuri Cemetery and a Fuel Station Opposite the Cemetery.
Explaining the cause of the accident he said, “A mining truck belonging to Awaso Bauxite en route from Takoradi run over a private vehicle with three miners onboard and killed them all instantly.
The deceased whose names were given as Akwasi Bacha who was the driver, King Medals and Frank working at Rock Sure a subcontractor for Perseus mining all died on the spot whilst on their way to work.
They believe that the accident was a result of reckless driving but yet to be confirmed by the police.
The remains have been sent to Dunkwa On-Offin Mortuary for autopsy and preservation whilst the Police have arrested the driver of the mining truck to assist them with their investigations.
