AdubianewsA Ghanaian corporate employee has been dismissed from his job after a video of him lamenting his GHS3,000 monthly salary surfaced online and went viral. The worker, whose identity is yet to be made public, claims he was sacked solely because of the viral clip.
According to him, his employer terminated his contract shortly after seeing the footage. Ironically, he said, this came at a time when the company owed him two months’ salary.
“They sacked me because of the video; meanwhile, they haven’t even paid me for two months,” he explained in a follow-up interview.
He clarified that the GHS3,000 figure mentioned in the video wasn’t even accurate; he earns less than that amount and believes he’s grossly underpaid considering the scope of work he does. “I do far more than what I’m paid for,” he added.
The worker expressed deep disappointment with the company, saying he had sacrificed years of hard work only to be abandoned during a personal crisis. “The same company I killed myself working for has now turned its back on me,” he lamented.
Despite the job loss, he is finding hope in unexpected places. He mentioned that strangers have shown more concern than his former employers. Notably, popular Ghanaian YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon has reportedly promised to support him financially.
Rather than seeing the dismissal as a setback, the man is choosing to view it as a divine opportunity for transformation.
“I believe this is God’s way of changing my situation,” he said with optimism.
His story has sparked conversations on social media about workplace fairness, employee welfare, and freedom of speech, especially in corporate Ghana.
