AdubianewsIn a dramatic turn of events, there was drama at the funeral of one the MDC Alliance member as MDC Alliance supporters humiliated MDC T Councillor who had also attended the funeral.
iHarare has established from a local publication that Mrs. Kuni MDC T councilor who switched sides from the Nelson Chamisa’s MDC Alliance to Thokozani Khupe’s MDC-T through the controversial Supreme Court judgment was humiliated at the funeral of an MDC Alliance member.
One of the mourners that spoke at the funeral said:
“We are saddened by the passing of our colleague. It’s painful. As I speak standing here, it was Innocent’s desire, we also know that Ward 2 voters are angry because you voted Mrs. Kuni as she came as an MDC alliance representative, only for her to take the votes to Thokozani Khupe.”
This statement prompted MDC T councilor, Mrs. Kuni, to wrestle to get a chance to speak at the funeral despite disapproval from the mourners. Councillor Kuni was prevented from speaking as they allegedly accused her of abandoning people who voted for her. She was apparently forcibly removed from the stage by mourners.
Ever since the Supreme court ordered the MDC-T to return to its 2014 structures there have been factional wars between the two parties. In addition to that, ever since Thokozani Khupe took control of the MDC-T, a number of members of parliament and councilors have been recalled and replaced with her appointees.
To avoid being recalled some legislators and councilors chose to switch sides, while some have chosen to remain loyal to MDC Alliance which is being led by Nelson Chamisa.
