The Ashanti region has recorded 392 new cases of COVID-19 infection between 20th July to 14 August.
So far 32 out of 43 districts in the region have recorded cases with Kumasi metro recording 19.9% of the total cases with 344 deaths.
60% of the cases are being recorded in the Greater Kumasi.
Currently, 9 schools still have active cases under management.
Addressing the media the Ashanti regional director of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang saithe region has received 50,000 pieces of Johnson and Johnson vaccine for the immunization in selected districts identified as hotspots of the COVID-19.
He called on the general public to observe all the protocols to prevent the spread of the disease.
