Veteran Ghanaian rapper D Cryme has opened up about his music journey, success, and mindset toward the industry.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, he said he is content with his progress and doesn’t see himself in competition with anyone.
When asked why many new artists seem to be doing better than he despite pioneers like himself paving the way, D Cryme explained that his focus has always been on his own path.
“I’m not in competition with any musician. I’m more concerned about the future and my own journey,” he said.
Responding to comparisons with newer acts like King Promise, particularly in terms of social media popularity, D Cryme noted that most of the younger musicians often acknowledge his influence when they meet him. According to him, many of them appreciate how his music and style inspired their careers.
He added that he feels fulfilled knowing that his work contributed to shaping the new generation of Ghanaian artists, stressing that his legacy matters more than numbers or trends.
