AdubianewsGhana is mourning the loss of one of its greatest musical icons, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
In the wake of his passing, the family has announced a series of commemorative activities to celebrate his life and honour his remarkable contributions to highlife music.
Starting Tuesday, July 29, 2025, a book of condolence will be opened at his residence on Kinshasha Crescent. Fans, colleagues, and loved ones will have the opportunity to pay their respects between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.
A candlelight vigil, organized in collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency, is also scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025. The event will take place at Independence Square at 6:00 p.m. and is expected to attract a large turnout of admirers, musicians, and public figures who cherish his legacy.
As the family continues to mourn privately, they have expressed appreciation for the overwhelming love and support from the public and have invited all Ghanaians to join in remembering the legacy of Daddy Lumba, a man whose music shaped generations.
