The Chairperson of the USA Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Vivian Maame Aba Dadzie, has made a heartfelt appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to include NDC members in the diaspora in his government.

Speaking at the NDC-USA annual conference and victory celebration in the United States, she emphasized the value that Ghanaians abroad can bring to the country’s development efforts.

Dr. Dadzie pointed out that many Ghanaians living overseas possess advanced academic knowledge, professional skills, and global experience that could greatly benefit national progress.

“Do not overlook the diaspora,” she said. “We have doctors, engineers, tech experts, finance professionals, and entrepreneurs who are eager to contribute to Ghana’s growth.”

She stated that the diaspora played a key role in the NDC’s victory in the 2024 elections and should not be sidelined. According to her, members abroad were vital to campaign strategies and resource mobilization.

“These professionals are drivers of innovation worldwide. We should not allow this powerful resource to go unused,” she said. “We respectfully request appointments to advisory roles and official recognition for diaspora contributions.”

Dr. Dadzie described the diaspora wing of the party as a strategic asset and urged the government to reward political loyalty and commitment.

“Political capital must be rewarded if we want to sustain momentum and inspire continued dedication,” she emphasized.

She also encouraged party members, particularly those abroad, to conduct themselves responsibly, especially on social media. “We are no longer in opposition. We are now in power. And with power comes responsibility,” she noted.

The event was attended by the Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, Elikem Kotoko, who reaffirmed the national leadership’s support for including the diaspora in Ghana’s development process.
