AdubianewsBlack Queens forward Doris Boaduwaa has been crowned Women’s Player of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, held on Saturday, June 14, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. This marks another significant milestone in the rising star’s career.
Boaduwaa edged out strong competition from her national teammate Alice Kusi and Police Ladies FC’s Mary Berko to claim the prestigious award, recognizing her outstanding performance on both club and national stages.
The former Hasaacas Ladies striker, who now plays for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel, made a strong impact in her debut season despite her team falling short of the Israeli Premier League title. Boaduwaa emerged as the top scorer for her club, netting 18 goals and proving to be a vital attacking force throughout the campaign.
On the international front, Boaduwaa has maintained her place in the Black Queens squad under new head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, even amid a challenging transitional phase. She is expected to play a key role for Ghana in the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where the national team will be seeking to make a strong impression.
Doris Boaduwaa’s award win highlights her consistent performance, goal-scoring ability, and growing influence in women’s football, both at the club and national levels.
