A well-known Egyptian actress has been given a one-year suspended jail sentence for possession of cannabis.
The AFP news agency reported that the drug was discovered in her suitcase among some snacks and lollipops.
Menna Shalabi was on her way to Cairo from the US. While marijuana is illegal in Egypt, it is legal in other US states.
Ms. Shalabi allegedly denied ownership of the pills at the time of her detention in November, according to Egyptian media.
Ms Shalabi has previously been nominated for an Emmy Award.
Cannabis is used by many in Egypt despite being illegal, AFP says.
