Inside and deep sources have confirmed the MCE has been asked to leave office immediately and handover to the Ashanti Regional Minister, pending the appointment of new MCE .
The sources said the decision to remove the MCE was part of measures to calm tensions and avoid further escalations following the killing of protestors by security forces on Monday.
Sualisu Bamba has since run away from the town and his location is still unknown.
Armed soldiers on the said day opened fire into a group of unarmed civilians who were protesting the murder of a social media activist, Mohammed Ibrahim Kaaka.
The protest was over the refusal of the Ejura police to open an investigation into the murder.
The late Kaaka was killed with stones and sticks on Saturday night by a mob.
He died later at the Komfo Anoakye Teaching hospital in Kumasi.
The death sparked the protest as the residents believed he was targeted and killed for exposing the incompetence of the MCE.
To the utter shock of the entire townspeople, armed security forces emerged with water tankers and other dangerous arsenal and starting shooting at the protestors ,leading to the massacre of the two young men.
Following the protest, three men believed to hit squad of the Ejura MCE, were arrested by the Ashanti regional police command.
There is another one called Bala said to be the ringleader taking direct orders from Sualisu Bamba and making sure they are executed by any means by these men.
These men were said to have threatened the deceased Kaaka to stop his #FixTheCountry activities or face their wrath.
Mynewsgh has also heard several testimonies by eyewitnesses and victims who either witnessed or experienced the torture and brutalities of these men.
One victim said, “during the NPP primaries, these same boys attacked me because they said I was supporting another candidate. They were the same boys who attacked the MP”.
A senior brother of the late Kaaka was also later arrested.
The Interior Minister who visited the town yesterday, Tuesday, July 1, has formed a committee to investigate the harmful action of both military and the sacked MCE, Sualisu Bamba.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, the Chief Imam and the National Security Minister are also in the town Friday to mourn with the families of the victims.
