Eleven (11) person have been killed after a Kumasi-bound Toyota mini bus with registration number AS 2872-20 on which they were traveling collided head-on with a DAF tipper truck with registration number NR 578 F at Alipe near Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
The deceased comprising of nine male adults, one female adult and a girl involved in the accident occurred on Tuesday, April 13 around 7:00pm.
According to a police sitrep, the driver of the Toyota mini bus veered off his lane and collided head-on with the DAF tipper truck.
Five passengers onboard the Toyota mini bus also sustained various degrees of injuries.
3news also reports that the driver of the Toyota mini bus identified as Akonsi Sumaila also died on the spot.
The injured were rushed to the Yapei Health Center and later conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where the deceased were also taken to.
