Business magnate Ernesto Taricone has distanced himself from an online investment platform identified as GCB Investments, dismissing claims that he has any involvement with the scheme.
In a statement, the shareholder of Trassaco Estate Development Ltd urged Ghanaians to disregard promotions linking him to the platform, stressing that the campaign is a deliberate attempt to exploit his name for fraudulent purposes.
His warning comes after online adverts circulated, portraying GCB Investments as a financial breakthrough for Ghana. Taricone described the claims as misleading and cautioned the public against engaging with the platform.
According to him, the scheme lures unsuspecting individuals with promises of financial freedom and unrealistic returns, only to defraud them of their money.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, his lawyer, Martin Kpebu, reinforced the alert in a Facebook post, bluntly describing GCB Investments as a scam designed to prey on vulnerable people.
The public has been advised to remain vigilant and report such fraudulent activities to the authorities.
