AdubianewsA tense moment unfolded during the Ablekuma North parliamentary re-run as police apprehended multiple individuals posing as security personnel near the Awoshie DVLA polling station.
The suspects, dressed in brown uniforms, were seen loitering around the entrance of the polling centre. Their presence quickly drew the attention of officers assigned to safeguard the voting process.
When questioned, the individuals failed to provide proper identification, raising red flags among law enforcement. They were immediately arrested and transported to the Odorkor Police Station for further interrogation.
Speaking to Citi News, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in Greater Accra, John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, confirmed the arrests. He revealed that the police have reasons to believe the suspects are not affiliated with any legitimate state security outfit.
“The police are still investigating the matter to determine exactly who these individuals are and why they were at the polling station,” he explained.
Investigations are currently underway to uncover the true identities and intentions of the arrested individuals.
