AdubianewsAn illegal miner has appealed to President John Mahama to intervene in the ongoing military operations targeting illegal mining sites.
In a video that has gained attention online, the miner urged the President to engage the military and request a halt to their clampdown, which he claims is making life unbearable for many miners.
According to him, illegal mining remains the only source of income for numerous individuals who rely on the trade to care for their families. He stressed that the continuous disruption by military forces is threatening their ability to survive and provide basic needs for their dependents.
The miner explained that many galamsey operators are not involved in criminal activity but are simply trying to make ends meet in the absence of viable job opportunities.
His plea reflects the growing frustration among local miners who feel targeted by security operations aimed at ending illegal mining activities across the country.
