The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that all participants attending the Diaspora Summit 2025 will be granted free visas, ahead of the two-day event scheduled for December 19–20, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The announcement follows a pledge made earlier by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, during the Summit’s official media launch.
According to the Ministry, the initiative is designed to support Africans and people of African descent who wish to participate in the summit, which aims to strengthen cooperation, deepen engagement, and promote partnerships for shared development across the diaspora.
Prospective attendees have been advised to visit the nearest Ghana Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate in their respective countries to secure the free visas before travelling to Ghana. The Ministry also reminded participants that online registration—available at *www.diasporasummitghana.org*—closes on Monday, December 8, 2025.
The statement further outlined the list of countries whose nationals are already exempt from visa requirements under existing Reciprocal Visa Waiver Agreements.
Citizens holding passports from Barbados, Bahamas, Dominica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Guyana, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Malawi, and Grenada do not require visas to enter Ghana.
Additionally, holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports from Brazil, Colombia, China, Cuba, Germany, Sudan, Türkiye, Namibia, Hungary, Iran, India, Equatorial Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Venezuela, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates also qualify for visa-free entry.
The Ministry urged participants to complete their visa processes promptly and directed all inquiries to its official communication channels. It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful Diaspora Summit 2025.
