AdubianewsA public exchange has erupted between Ghana’s former Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, and legal practitioner Thaddeus Sory, following a series of sharp criticisms and rebuttals related to Dame’s conduct in office and his legal legacy.
The issue gained attention after Thaddeus Sory raised concerns about Dame’s professional behavior, questioning his approach to certain cases and his role as Attorney General. In response, Godfred Dame fired back in a strong rebuttal, claiming Sory’s focus on him was unwarranted and obsessive.
“I live in your mind rent free, ” Dame said, addressing Sory’s repeated criticisms. He further defended his track record, saying, “I’ve defeated you in cases since 2007 and 2009… If the state wins all the time, what happens to the independence of the judiciary?” This was in reference to his stance that losses in court are part of a balanced legal system and not a reflection of incompetence.
Sory, in turn, dismissed the idea that he was obsessed with Dame. He stated that the former Attorney General had failed to directly address the issues raised.
“Your response lacks clarity and relevance, ” Sory said, challenging Dame to stay on the subject rather than resort to personal jabs. He also hinted at releasing further details on the matter soon
