A Pro-NPP group, Alliance For Footsoldiers Advocacy (AFFA) is calling on the Government and the Board of Trustees for the COVID-19 National Trust Fund to withdraw the appointment of Abeiku Santana as COVID-19 Ambassador.
This follows anger in the internal circles of the New Patriotic Party as sources say party members and supporters as not happy with the appointment of a Member of the opposition National Democratic Congress to handle such an important sensitization effort of government in dealing with the pandemic.
According to the group, Abeiku Santana supported the destructive criticism of the National Democratic Congress’ parallel COVID-19 Technical Response Team and could not be the right person to head such an important task.
Signals are that party members and footsoldiers will be demonstrating against the Nana Akufo-Addo Government should this decision remain unchanged as some supporters say they are tired of watching none NPP members being given jobs and other opportunities to the total neglect of the footsoldiers.
AFFA further cautioned the COVID-19 Board of Trustees to blame itself if they fail to heed to their calls of revoking the appointment of Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana.
“AFFA is by this release calling on The Board of Trustees of Ghana COVID-19 National Trust Fund to withdraw the Ambassadorial appointment of Abeiku Santana as soon as possible or have itself to blame in the coming days”.
