Vice President Bawumia is in the trends again and this time it is about a photo that is making rounds where he is kneeling before pupils studying without desk.
The photo actually gives a sorry account of how some schools in remote Ghana are struggling with basic amenities like desk, proper classroom and a reliable supply of teaching and learning materials.
Many believe Bawumia’s decision to kneel before the pupils to sympathize with them clearly reveal how the politician knows all the problems in the country but has failed to solve them.

Meanwhile, many have raised objection to the reaction from Ghanaians with the explanation that the photo was an old one which was taken long before the New Patriotic Party won power in 2016.
While these explanations appear to be handy, some Ghanaians still believe the government has not done enough to move schools under trees into the classroom and to provide the needed resources to support teaching and learning in the country.
This actually ties into the #FixTheCountry mantra which has been gathering momentum for the past month on social media.

Biitka wrote: This particular picture is old, it was furnished with desks after he had visited the school…. That was in 2016 or 2017…
Ghana Ba replied: Show us a picture of the furnished classrooms, don’t come here and say what you’ve no idea about!!
