Scene of road accident at Hosita in Ho Municipality with emergency responders

A deadly road accident at Hosita in the Ho Municipality has claimed two lives and left several others injured on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The crash involved a black Toyota Land Cruiser (CR 2318-25) and a green Hyundai Urvan bus (GE 1005 Y). Eyewitnesses reported that the Land Cruiser, traveling from Ho towards Adaklu, attempted to overtake another vehicle, resulting in a head-on collision with the minibus, which was carrying passengers from Adidome to Ho.

Victims were rushed to Ho Teaching Hospital, mostly by private individuals who arrived at the scene before emergency services. Officials from the National Ambulance Service later arrived, citing delays due to a prior assignment transporting another patient.

An ambulance officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, highlighted the strain on the only ambulance serving the Ho Municipality and surrounding areas, calling for additional backup vehicles to ensure timely response in emergencies.

Officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service responded to the scene, assisted in rescue efforts, and assured the public of a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
