Thomas Partey on Monday night, October 6, completed a sensational switch to Arsenal ending a long-standing transfer saga that compounded his uncertain future at Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal have for months been linked with Partey, but have been unable to match his massive £45million release clause.
Ex-manager Unai Emery was first thought to have ordered the Gunners to complete a move for the midfielder but missed out on him last summer.
Jacob told Hot Fm in Accra that when his son signed for Atletico Madrid in 2011, he had to sell almost everything he had to make the boy travel.
It wasn’t easy for Partey to leave Ghana to Spain. I had to sell my lands and many properties to help my son,” Jacob Partey said on the show ‘Focal Sports’.
Partey then moved on to become one of the hottest midfielders in world football playing for Atletico and has now moved to Arsenal for £45m.
Aside his hefty transfer fee, Partey now earns roughly £260,000 a week at Arsenal, a whopping Ghc 1.9m every week.
It’s safe to say his family won’t be selling any more properties but would rather but gaining more and more!
