Media Practitioner Kwame Sefa Kayi says if NDC comes to power tomorrow, they will never forgive Ursula Owusu Ekuful and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for their quick and bad decision in closing down Radio Gold three years ago.
He made this known to Akwasi Aboagye on Peace FM while reacting to a question on media sanity in the country. Akwasi Aboagye tried to draw Kwame Sefa Kaye’s attention to the fact that Radio Gold was closed down per rules and regulations of the Communications Ministry.
However Kwame Sefa Kaye insisted that, if the closure was based on law or politics, he still sees the decision in a quick and bad taste. This is because, it will breed political witch hunting.
“What if tomorrow NDC wins elections and decide to chase and close down some perceived NPP media houses ? Is that what we want ?” He quizzed.
To him President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Ursula Owusu Ekuful should revise that decision and allow radio Gold to operate. That is the only way to stop future hunting of NPP stations by the NDC.
He spoke on Peace FM Entertainment show. On the same platform, Kwame Sefa Kaye explained why he stopped acting and decided to do radio presentation. He revealed that acting in Ghana doesn’t pay. He wasn’t getting any better money there. However radio has made him a better person and opened many opportunities for him in and outside the country.
