We are sudden by the reportage on allege aiding and abetting in crime by the hierarchy of the Bono East Regional Police.
In the said video aired on Angel TV morning show in the morning of 21st March, 2021, footages of huge sums of money suspected to be Ghanaian currency(Gh¢) was seen on the desk of a police officer.
The said amount of money was alleged by the host(Captain Smart) to be a bribe received from the suspect allegedly transporting illegal drugs and firearms to an unknown destination.
The said individual arrested offered the Junior officers on patrol duty the bribe but the officers out of gross professionalism and patriotism declined to accept it.
However, per the report the Bono East 2IC and the his Operations commander accepted the cash and freed the suspects and queried the Juniors officers for apprehending and arresting the suspects.
Per a document sighted in the YouTube video the professional Juniors officers has since been transferred by the Bono East Regional Command because of their act of patriotism and professionalism.
As partners of development we deem it expedient without equivocation that the peace and security of the infant Region is crucial for the accelerated development.
Again, the good state of Security in the infant region endowed with natural resources will attract investors to the region.
We therefore call on the IGP to instruct the Regional 2IC and his Operations Commander to proceed on leave immediately for investigation into the orchestrated nation-wrecking crime to take place. This has become necessary because we believe their presence at post may influence the investigation.
Again, we call on the IGP to quickly withdraw the transfer letters issued to young patriotic Juniors officers with immediate effect, reinstate them and promote them to serve as a motivation to other police officers to emulate.
These will restore that trust the good people of Bono East Region have in the Ghana Police Service.

Long live Bono East Region, long live Ghana.
