Illegal miner in apology video after threatening police and military

An illegal miner who went viral for urging colleagues to shoot, kill, or butcher any police officer or soldier at mining sites has released a second apology video.

In the new recording, the miner expressed deep regret over his earlier comments, revealing that the backlash has taken a heavy toll on his mental health. He disclosed that he now carries poison in his pocket wherever he goes and has been contemplating suicide since the video went viral.

According to him, watching the footage online repeatedly leaves him distressed. “Anytime I see the video, my spirit is lowered, and I become very sad,” he said, appealing to those who shared the video to take it down.

The miner once again apologised to the Ghana Police Service and the Military for his words, admitting that he was wrong. He also revealed that he is not in good health, further compounding his struggles.

The video has sparked widespread reactions, with many calling for authorities to balance accountability with compassion, given his fragile mental state.
