  • Hazard was one of Zidane’s marquee signings upon joining 2 years ago.
  • However, the Belgian but could not consistently perform due to injuries.
  • Eden is sad to let the Frenchman down like that and his admiration for Zizou is clear.

Zinedine Zidane’s departure still resonates around the world, but is most deeply felt by his players. Eden Hazard is one of those to resent Zizou’s exit, and rues the fact he couldn’t help the Frenchman more on the pitch.

“I was very disappointed when he left. But, that’s the life of a club, coaches come and go. Zidane knows how much admiration I have for him both as a player and as a coach. It’s a great loss for the club. I am disappointed that I could not be more useful to him. I hope to see him again very soon,” Hazard was quoted by RTBF as saying.

Hazard joined Real Madrid in 2019 as a marquee signing but continues to struggle with injuries and inconsistent form when fit. Different reports link him with an exit but the Belgian himself looks defiant to prove himself in Spain.

As for Zidane, well, we can only hope he gets more credit and trust at his next club or national team. He’s a top-tier manager, something he’s proved over 2 spells with Los Blancos.
