Tension gripped Achimota after a Mercedes-Benz allegedly rammed into a refuse-loaded tricycle, killing its rider instantly. The horrifying incident drew an angry crowd of youth who stormed the scene in protest.
Eyewitnesses claimed the Mercedes-Benz driver was speeding when he lost control and plowed into the tricycle. The impact threw the rider off the road, leaving him lifeless before help could arrive.
Furious bystanders accused the driver of reckless driving and descended on the vehicle, smashing its windows and denting its body in rage. The situation created chaos as more people joined in, demanding justice for the deceased.
Police officers later rushed to the scene to disperse the crowd and restore calm. The body of the deceased was taken to the morgue, while the damaged Mercedes-Benz was towed away for investigation.
