Some individuals suspected to be land guards reportedly stormed a section of Spintex earlier today and demolished several shops on a disputed piece of land. The incident is said to have taken place during the early hours of the day, leaving many shop owners in shock and distress.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the armed men arrived at the scene with a backhoe vehicle, which they used to pull down structures and ransack the area. Many items and goods belonging to traders were destroyed in the process as the land guards attempted to forcibly evict the occupants.
The land in question is believed to be under dispute between private developers and some residents, sparking a series of confrontations in recent months. Local authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter as investigations continue.
