Men of the Niger state police command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Sani Garba, for raping a 60-year-old woman.
A statement from the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, says on July 18, police officers attached to the B division in Suleja, arrested Garba for criminally trespassing into the room of the 60-year-old woman and then raped her.
Wasiu said Garba has confessed to entering the woman’s house and raping her. He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as possible.
In a related development, men of the state police command on July 16, arrested a 23-year-old man identified as John Adamu of Ungwan Nassarawa area Kontangora, for raping a one 7-year-old girl of the same address.
The police spokesperson said the suspect confessed to have penetrated the girl through the back at his security post premises. He said the suspect will also be arraigned in court soon.
