A young man was apprehended at the Kumasi Magazine after a failed attempt to steal a mobile phone while making a legitimate purchase. According to eyewitness reports, he visited a shop to buy a vehicle starter but allegedly swiped a phone during the transaction before leaving the premises.
Unbeknownst to him, the stolen phone would soon expose his actions. After leaving the shop, the starter he purchased reportedly malfunctioned. In an ironic twist, he returned to the same shop to request a replacement, unaware that the owner had already begun reviewing CCTV footage from earlier.
The footage clearly identified him as the individual who took the missing phone. With solid evidence in hand, the shop owner patiently waited for his return, preparing to confront him about the theft captured on camera.
Upon his arrival, the owner confronted him directly and detained him before he could escape. The bold move by the shop owner, combined with video evidence, ensured the suspect’s immediate arrest, drawing attention from nearby traders and residents in the busy Kumasi Magazine area.
