A middle-aged man, believed to be in his late 50s, has died after collapsing in a public toilet facility in Juaboso in the Western North Region.
The incident occurred on Thursday, January 15, and sent shockwaves through residents and users of the facility after the man suddenly slumped and became unresponsive. Alarmed by the situation, people nearby rushed to offer assistance, but all efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the Juaboso District Police Command were alerted and promptly arrived to secure the area. The body has since been conveyed to the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved for autopsy and further examination.
Police authorities say investigations have commenced to establish the exact cause of death, while steps are also being taken to identify the deceased and trace his family.
In the meantime, residents have been urged to remain calm as the police assure the public that all necessary procedures are being followed to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
